Your driver/guide will show you bubbling hot springs and mud pots, waterfalls twice the height of Niagara, and spouting geysers for which there is only one word: "Wow!"
Yes, there is wildlife, and keep binoculars handy. You frequently see buffalo (yes, same as bison) on this tour, elk and/or moose probably on three quarters of the tours, antelope and coyote often, and occasionally the elusive bear and wolf.
Your guide knows what to look for and will tell great stories about the history, flora, fauna, geology...and even a few scary ones. This tour is lots of fun!

The Yellowstone National Park Tour is a full-day excursion of the Lower Loop of the Grand Loop Road, leaving town around 7:30 am. We drive through Grand Teton Park and stop at the eloquent Jackson Lake Lodge where guests may enjoy a cup of coffee and doughnuts as we drive through Grand Teton on the way to Yellowstone. We stop for critters!
We get to the Old Faithful around 10:30, where everyone's on their own for 2 to 2.5 hours because this is one of the most amazing places on the planet. Stroll the boardwalk, amid the hot springs, where 25% of all the geysers in the world are located. Gaze in awe at the Historic Old Faithful Inn (opened in 1904--now a Historical Landmark). You have six places to choose from for lunch. Or check out the Visitor Center with the movie that takes you inside a geyser. Or watch the seismograph for earthquake activity--you're inside a volcano! After lunch, we'll travel north to Firehole Lake Drive and the Fountain Paint Pots trail. Mud pots!
We'll continue on the loop, cruise along Virginia Cascades Drive, and head to the center of the park for an ice cream break. Yea! Then to the surreal, wondrous Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and the fantastic 308-foot waterfall. We'll visit Lookout Point for what we think is the best view in the Park. Have your camera ready!
We'll see more cool stuff, look for wildlife, stop at the Lake Hotel on Lake Yellowstone, make a big loop, and get back to Jackson around 6:30 pm. It's a 260-mile loop to see all the features!
Customer Comments"A most experienced tour guide. He conveyed history, geography and local lore in a most entertaining way! He included little quizzes (with prizes) to keep us involved. We were in a nine passenger van that was very comfortable and equipped with a good sound system, so we could hear well even in the very back."
"Took a full day tour to Yellowstone...so special we will remember it forever! He was extremely knowledgable, funny, full of great stories and a lovely person who made us fall in love with Yellowstone! I cannot remember having such a great tour and it was just the best day of our entire trip."
"My wife suggested we schedule a guided tour of Yellowstone due to the expanse of the park and also my ability to watch something other than the road. I nearly choked on my coffee when she told me we would be in a vehicle for eleven hours. Despite mine and my children's (13, 11, and 9-years old) grumblings, she booked the tour. Am I ever glad she did. Our guide was a wealth of knowledge! I'm not sure there's a plant, animal, land formation, body of water, or historical Yellowstone figure he doesn't know about. He provides visual aids as you wind your way through Yellowstone, stopping at all the best possible spots for photo ops. I mean the man really keeps you moving! He imparts his knowledge onto the group in an entertaining way that even captures the imagination of kids that aren't easily impressed with such things as...history. We didn't want the day to end! With a maximum of 9-10 passengers, the quaint setting allows a personal interaction. He gets to know you and you get to know him. I would recommend you brush up on a bit of Yellowstone history and you might be the recipient of prizes! We will be back."
